Fibers, Felines and Food

Profile Information

Location
Pullman, WA
About Me:
My four favorite things...fibers, food, felines and books, but books doesn't start with an "f"...

I decided to learn to knit about 2 or 3 years ago and a local crack...I mean yarn shop was hosting some sock classes. That was it...I'm hooked and socks are my drug of choice. I have a couple of sweaters started and have completed some basic hats and such, but socks are it for me right now.

I'm a 43 year old, married Mom to two teenagers, my son is at the Vancouver Film School studying Animation and Game Design and my daughter is a Senior in High School and is talking Medical School or Physical Therapy. I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician at a Mixed practice and I have been at my dream job for almost 8 years, now.

I love to read and get quite nervous if there is less than at least 200 books around me. I was an avid quilter until my collection took over and I didn't have any room left to actually sew. Now it's all in storage until I have room to set it all up again...probably as soon as the daughter leaves for college...

An Amazing Food Blog

My good friend Kristin is one of those amazing cooks that can just throw stuff together. Even her screw-ups are delicious. Here's her food blog: http://passionforeating.blogspot.com/ I promise you...you won't be disappointed...especially if you have any dietary issues. She and her son can't have yeast, chicken eggs, or cow-dairy and a few other strange things. She makes it work.

New Season, New Project, Fewer Cats...

I haven't been knitting much lately. I'm trying to get through some classes that I've been procrastinating about. I signed up for KPs Sipalu bag knitalong. I'm doing it in the warm colors. Keep your fingers crossed Since November of 2007, I've gone from 8 cats to three, then added one, so I'm at four. Four is a good number. Last month, my husband's cat Jilly got sick and I had to euthanize her. My big, black cat, Mau, is a medical anomaly (of course he is...I'm in the veterinary field) so I re… Continue

Thanks for the invite!

I used to be a vet tech, I worked for an emergency clinic, but now I am in customer servide. Better hours =)

Currently, my husband and I are owned by 2 cats, Scrunchy (my avatar) and Munchy, his look alike sister.

I have knitted for 5 yrs, crocheted for 20 and handspun for 15 years. I am finally taking the plunge and learning to knit socks, using the magic loop method, so far so good, it looks like a sock....sorta.....

Hope your girl feels better soon!
