About Me:
I love to knit and travel. Everytime I go out of town I have to check out all the knitting shops along the way. My boys tell me I have enough yarn to open my own store. Socks is a weakness for me. I can't get enough sock patterns. I have 2 jack russel terriers, 1 cat, 3 kids and a wonderful man. I have been knitting for 3 years. I taught myself how to knit. I read alot of books. and called my sister alot. Thanks for big sisseys

Hi Kentucky ( sorry dont know your name),
Sorry to hear about your shoulder replacement! does it involve a long hospital stay? And rehab? Thank goodness for swimming pools! I do all my rehab and excercises in the pool. It feels good and I feel light as a feather! The only thing is, coming out I feel like i weigh a TON! LOL.
I "scribble" my patterns down in my own handwriting. Most of them as i go along. I am not much of a structured knitter. After the 4th, when it will be quiet for a few weeks ( i hope) i write some out. Just let me know which ones.
Keep up your spirits!

Hi Kentucky!
Sorry to hear you were sick on your travels. I hope you are much better now. My brother arrived from Belgium, also with a nasty cold! We had our June Birthday Bash on Father's Day. Michael, our youngest AND gourmet chef, prepared a scrumptious brunch of Belgian Waffles, with all possible additions + eggs, bacon and sausages. Then later on the day, by 8pm, our other sons, Christopher and Rob, cooked BBQ chicken, bratsburgers and hotdogs. John and I had a ball with the grandkids. We were totally tuckered out when the last ones left! All in all a very good day! And this Saturday we will repeat this with a BBQ at Rob and Krissi's house with a lot more people. From his backyard we have a grand view for the Fireworks.
As "tradition" prescribes on the 4th our gang and then some will gather at our house to swim and BBQ. That night we all pile in the motor home to go watch the fireworks at the military base where Rob works! After this round of parties John and I NEED a break.
I have finished Davids Summer Sweater and am almost done with Abigails Bolero. Last night I started a Sleeveless dress for Katie.
Did you see the "new" sock yarn on Knit Picks? Gorgeous! I will be doing a lot of knitting, or at least, adding to my already substantial "stash"!
Let me know how you are doing? Okay?

Oops forgot to tell you what i'm knitting on right now. Finished Erica's pink cashmere "heart" wrap (Karabella Superfine Cashmere). And working on a summer top for Katie in Shine Sport, Sky. It is a pre-curser for summer sweaters for the other babies. I like the Feel and shine of the Shine Sport, although i was hoping for a thinner strand. For David it will be a front button sweater in SS, Leapfrog, and, for Abigail a short sleeved bolero(dont know if this is a word?) in the SS Orchid. Will post pix when finished. Now i am going to have coffee with my husband and brother on the back deck!
Have a fun knit day!

Thanks for the note! it has so busy here these last couple of weeks. My brother arrived from Belgium. he is staying for a while. The little pix i post and change regularly are just watercolor sketches. I have never done commercial painting. I used to exhibit and sell for charity in our local hospital, but even that became quickly very cutthroat. So rather than the constant "bitching" i stopped. You had to belong to the local Artist Guild to be able to exhibit.....and i just did not like the way most of the "ladies" operated. The paintings i had are either in our house or in the children's homes. Once in a while, when i do "paint" they go directly to the kids, since...duh! most are quick sketches of the grandkids. Feel free to copy them of the knit page and reprint which ever one you like. something pleasing such as pix, paintings, knit and craft items as well as recipes should be free for all to enjoy!

Hello! I hope you get the spinning wheel as well. I know I love mine. I just get into a zone when I am spinning. I need to up date my pictures. I have more to add. I found a pair of socks my grandmother made for my grandfather - these need to be posted and shared with everyone. My daughter just got back from a 2 week vacation. Boy did we need it! Now to get back into the swing of things and enjoy more knitting time. Let me know if you get the wheel!

Thinking of you -- and you are, of course, in my prayers. Keep knitting -- it has a way of lending comfort on the bad days and giving you peace.

All is ok now. Last week John went into the hospital for chestpains, he drove himself to the Emergency room without telling anyone. I was so mad I had trouble talking to him afterwards in the hospital. After a few days of intensive tests he got the ok to go home. He will need to take some meds for a while. Then on Mothersday he had to go back in, cause the docter thought he might have internal bleeding from the Cardiac Catherization. It turned out he had a back strain...So a week of rest, no driving, no lifting and he'll be as good as new or as the docters tell him: as good as his 72 yrs will let him. Thank god for all the kids. They were absolute wonderful with all the help they gave us. Have not done much knitting except in the hospital while waiting....
Have a great reunion with your daughter. My brother is coming over frm Belgium on the 29th of May to stay for a few months. That will be a time of parties, BBQ's and family dinners at each of the kids houses.
