4mm is size 6, right? All my needles are knitpicks. Boy, was I surprised recently to see a friend's bamboo needles. SO blunt, I don't know how she can pick up her stitches!!
I got the feeling I should be using size 8-10.5 needles. It's so confusing, and alot of work in a shawl. I don't want to get done and be unhappy with it.
Thanks for your answers.
Thanks... I ordered 6 skeins of Gossamer from Knit Picks in Trail (it was on sale so I got extra!!) I just got started and I have to say the first couple of rows were definitely the most challenging.
I've not had so much problem with tangling as with just getting the lace-weight yarn to stay on my fingers...not to mention my needles!! I have tinked more rows than I care to count and I've ripped out my entire project 3 times trying to learn how to handle the yarn. So for now, since I'm dealing with one of the worst colds I've ever had (I have to feel better to die! *sigh*), I've put lace knitting away and am doing some mindless crochet on a baby blanket. One of these days, though, I am determined to pick up my lace shawl needles and CONQUER the thing!! Thanks for asking. ;-)
Thanks Mariane! I just ordered 5 hanks (just to be on the safe side) of KP Shadow in Oregon Coast. I want it to be an everyday shawl for the winter so I thought the neutral colors would work well. Can't wait to get started! Thanks again for your help.
Hi... I want to order yarn for the July shawl from Knitpicks... how many hanks did you use of the sweetpeas... and what lace yarn is that? Gossamer? Thanks for any help!!
