What is on my needles today?

Ok, now that I am coming back down to the ground after my encounter with the "Yarn Harlot" (which I may talk about for days), the question is what is on my needles today? The sequel book to Mason Dixon knitting is now out. I had to get a copy as there are so many things in it that are wonderful and are asking to be made. Also I do enjoy reading what they say. It really reminds me of my friends and how they interact with me as I knit, design or make lace. Sometimes I think they are in awe of me… Continue

The Book signing!

The book signing was a blast. Stephanie Pearl-McPHee was wonderful. Her talk was on several different subjects, as all knitters who gather together do. She even read an excerpt from her book. She was aslo very personable. AND when I mentioned I also blog, she said she knew who I was! Ok. I am totally bowled over. I guess I expect this in my niche community of Lace. I am known to many of the lace guilds across the country and even a few in Canada. My books are not as well read as Stephanies, how… Continue

Going to a book signing!

A buddy of mine has invited me to go with her to see Stephenie Pearl McPhee at the Three Corner Book store in Lake Forrest Park tomorrow night! I am thrilled! I am taking these two books to have signed. The first is my favorite. I wonder if I take my socks along I can get a picture of her holding them? You know she is always working on a pair of socks and are always ready for a photo op.

Plane Socks?

Here are the socks I started to knit on the plane. I wasn't taking a chance with my Pi shawl on those addi lace needles. I had to knit--you know do something with my hands while I waited. I had bought the Eclectic Sole sock book and totally loved the socks within. I had to start something from there. I am using the Trekking hand dyed and a solid blue. Don't they look great? It is my first pair of toe up socks.

I'm Back!

Here I am back blogging. A lot has happened in the time I have been away. We have moved. I went to Mexico. And I am still unpacking from the move. Mexico I taught a class on a cruise to Mexico. The lacemaking guild asked me to teach one of my wire bobbin lace designs. The hedgehog.

Thanks! Yes, it will debut on my cruise. You know I do wear shawls a lot. I have shawls for summer and shawls for winter. They are an easy accessory and quick and fun to make.

The shawl is looking really nice. I look forward to seeing what the remaining charts look like knitted onto the shawl.

I haven't tried Fair Isle dyeing yet, but I love the idea. But, I keep telling myself I need to knit what I've already dyed before I can dye more........it's a losing battle.

Isn't creating and dreaming about your next project fun? I've always got something in the works too. And whether it's in the garden, or reorganizing my stash...I always feel so accomplished when I'm done.

Thanks that is a very generous offer of a pattern. I was particularly taken with the white bag - it just looks so delightful. The others work so well with the bag handles. Did you knit these to fit, having chosen the handles first?

Thanks for your comment about the sweaters in my photos. I enjoy knitting cables - rather a satisfying pattern to watch as it grows.
By the way, I do like that cabled bag in your own photos. I'm not surprised it was well received.
