Hi. I've seen a sample of a corn/cotton blend yarn, and it felt very sturdy, much like a linen/cotton blend, but that could have been the yarn construction or the quality of the cotton it was blended with. I think all plant cellulose fibers go through pretty much the same process we would more familiarly call rayon - a pulp made of the fibers which is then extruded in strands.
