My passions are: Handspinning, Knitting, Weaving, Dyeing and Antique Sock Knitting Machines. I have a particular fondness for spinning on Great Wheels, I so enjoy the movement and rhythm. I also enjoy restoring antique weaving looms, bringing them back productive life.
Uh-oh! See that, I'm way too old and have no grandchildren yet. I've mixed up my Grimm Bros Fairy Tales. It was not Rapunzel ~ it was Rumplestiltskin - Spinning straw into gold! At least I had the 'R' correct. Ah, senior moments ~ oh well......{};o))
Wow, how I envy you! I always wanted to learn to spin and the Great Wheel was always fascinating to me. Probably because I loved the Rapunzel fairy tale! I've seen lots of spinning demos, but never one on a Great Wheel. Is that you in the pic? I'm trying to knit my first pair of socks. Wanted to make them for myself, but after completing the gusset on the first sock and trying it on, I guess this pair will have to be a gift for my DS or someone with really large ankles. My own are racehorse thin! My guage is correct so I guess I'll just have to find another pattern. Happy to see you here and hope to learn from you.
