Yarn Feedback

I like to wear my socks short so I've never knit anything that even went half way up my calf. A friend of mine asked if I could knit her a pair of knee high socks and I'm wondering if there is enou...

Double-Pointed and Fixed Circulars

Hi, I saw that you have a set of 3 Harmony needles that serve as cable needles in sizes 3, 6 and 9 (I believe). Any chance that you'll be making smaller needle sizes? I'd love something that would ...

Yarn Feedback

I have a pattern for Felted Slipper Socks from KnitPicks--I'm pretty sure it was a free download. At the time the suggested yarn was doublestranded Palette on size 9 needles. I've only felted one t...

Favorite KP yarn?

I saw the post about the new Imagination sock yarn coming out today so I kept looking and looking and there it is! But I didn't know there were going to be new Essential colors too! You make it so...

About Me:
I live in New Jersey with my hubby of 17 years. No kids but a couple of 4 legged critters running around the house -- 2 cats, my parents' dog and a pup we are raising for the Seeing Eye Foundation.

I learned to knit in college -- 20 years ago!!! ACK! I took a summer job working in a needlework store that sold lots of yarn and by the time I was done with college, I had enough yarn to knit 30 sweaters. After a few years and lots of sweaters that seemed to fit almost everybody else but me, I decided to put knitting aside and I gave all my yarn and patterns away except for baby yarn for gift baby booties.

My hiatus from knitting lifted October 2007 when I started to spend a lot of time in hospitals caring for my mom. I decided to try sock knitting -- it was a nice small portable project with almost instant gratification. Now I am hooked but this time on socks...mostly.

I've done some scarves, felted a pair of slippers and played with the moebius thing via a Cat Bordhi book. But mostly I knit socks. And I love it!

My other passion is scrapbooking and I even have a scrapbook I'm working on of favorite knit patterns :-)

I agree. Once I mastered turning a heel and the Kichner (is that spelled right?) stitch, I just love knitting socks. They're so portable and pattern choices are endless. But alas, I'm afraid I'm going to have to wait on ordering my sock blanks too ):
Summer Classes just started and buying those text books is a killer. Talk about starving student.

Hiya, I too loooooove to knit socks. They're like little treasures to me....the possible patern combinations are endless. That's why I'm so excited about this sock blank knit/dye along.

the 2-at-a-time-socks book is wonderful. The patterns are easy to read and adjust to your needs. I also find the cast on easier than some magic loop instructions. There are also patterns for several weight yarns and different size needles, which I really liked. I definately reccomend that book. Let me know if you give it a try. I would love to see how you like it.

Yes, thanks for writing. I did get my new #1/43". The needle part is longer than the nickle plated ones, and so far I think I like that better. I knit faster with the nickle plated tho. I would buy another size if the occasion arose.

I also bought the book "Twisted Sisters". Have you heard of it? It's all about sweaters, simple patterns.

I love the 2 at once on 1 circ. Instant gratification! You have a finished pair when you are done. No second sock syndrome! Just be brave and try in! Never be afraid to try new stuff with knitting, if you mess up you get to reknit it! And we love to knit or we wouldn't be talking about it!

My KP set that I own is Nickle. This purchase will be my first for the Harmony. I'll let you know how I like them. Instead of knitting before work this morning I decided to go through an Alice Starmore book and dream. I want to do two color so bad and love the sweaters but I think I better start with mittens or socks before I invest in all the yarn for the sweaters. Have you done two color?

You know how sometimes the "ball" gets rolling? Well I went to clean one stinkin' drawer to find stitch markers and ran across some Regia red, really cool yard and started another pair. I'm not too fast as I only knit for about an hour each night. Getting home at 6:30 doesn't leave much time after a load of laundry, dinner, and a bit of housework. I have a meeting out of town this weekend and will knit at the hotel. I'll try and post a picture of the "blue" socks that never seem to get done. I can't believe I started another UFO. Well, maybe I can believe it. I just bought a Harmony 43" size 2 circ from KP and I'm waiting for it to come in. Do you use circulars or DPN's?

I've dyed two of the Bare, with koolaid but now I see they have dyes available on Knit Picks. I bought the Superwash merino silk sock yarn and the merino nylon donegal. The merino silk made a great deep red when I mixed cherry and strawberry koolaid together. Let me know how you socks turn out.

I haven't picked a sock for the sock knit along in the book they started with as I have a pair on the needles fro Sensational Knitted Socks by Charlene Schurch. I have two pair going out of that book, one is with a varigated Regia yarn I found in my christmas stocking and the pattern is Garter Rib, and the 2nd pair I have on needles with with a great Cherry Hill yarn , pattern yarn over cable. Nice to meet you.
