Actually I used Peaches N' Cream cotton for the kimono (from Walmart) and I don't remember how many skeins I used. But my grandson never even wore it. He was too big for it when he was born. If I did it over again, I would use Shine and either knit looser or use bigger needles. I think I knit rather tight and the finished product was pretty small. Hope this helps. Happy knitting.
