About Me:
I'm a single mom to a beautiful baby boy, and a college student at Montclair State University. I learned to knit from my mother when I was around 5. I didn't pick it up again until I became pregnant with my son, and since then I haven't stopped. Most of my projects have been for my son and my sister Sam.

Daddy and Dino at the MET

Dino and his daddy at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This was taken in front of the sphinx next to the Temple of Dendur Daddy's smile isn't the best, but that's ok, we love him anyway. Note the stroller in the background isn't actually ours.

Who's afraid of the big bad ball of Suri?

Dino is. I ordered the Cool Alpaca sampler, and it contains a ball of Suri Dream in Gloxinia. Well I thought Dino would love it. (He usually loves feeling yarns up against his face.) Well turns out not. He did not like that ball of Suri at all! He said No! And pushed it away. I think he might have been afraid of it! Anyway, that made my day even more than new Harmony needle set. I think I'm gonna tease him with it, for a while longer... (yes I know I'm such a mean mommy), but the look on his fac… Continue

Yay for vintage things!

I was overjoyed and then quickly saddened today. After over a week of waiting I received my order from ebay, of two sweater wheels! Yes, sweater wheels. My momma used to have them (they got ruined in a flood) and I still have a pink sweater she made me using them. One is for set in sleeves and the other one is for raglan sleeves. Well they both came in the original plastic cover and are in pretty good condition, except for the raglan sleeve one. I turned it to the children's size side and low an… Continue

Long Time No Post.

I have not posted in a while, and seeing this is the only blog I keep, I suppose I should write a bit of something. I did sign up for the account right? Well then! My knitting has been a bit crazy lately. I have too many projects on various needles. A hat for my special needs student, who's not getting it until he behaves, a large blanket and sweater for my son, a prayer shawl and that lace shawl for myself and I just took off a baby blanket, and fingerless mitts for two different friends. I hav… Continue

Third Time's The Charm... hopefully.

So... I want to restart my shawl, again, I know. But I think I am in way over my head with this pattern I choose too. Luckily after searching Ravelry I found a simple repeat, it's only four rows... nothing too difficult. Hopefully. I've decided that if I take both hanks of Shimmer and knit double stranded I should have a nice length rectangular shawl. I think I'm gonna either go with size 7 or 8 needles. The pattern calls for size 5 using a fingering weight wool. So... who knows maybe this is ye… Continue

One sock done... five more to go... yes five.

So I finally finished the first sock for my baby's daddy. Indeed. It looks lovely. Sad thing is, I have a decent amount left over which means I could have made the cuff at least another inch longer than the five inches it is. Oh well... another iPod cozy for my sister Sam then. I really liked working with Gloss. It knits up beautifully, it sparkles really! Anyway now I have to knit sock number two, then I'm gonna knit up a pair for Sam, and finally decide on what pattern to do for my pair... I j… Continue

Emily Victoria: Here it is-- http://www.fibertrends.com/viewer/V7_toys.html. It's called "A Felt Flock," and was designed by Bev Galeskas. Because it's felted, you probably could throw it into the washer if it gets dirty. --Peggy

Hi, Emily Victoria! I put the felted sheep into my photo album. I think this would make a better toy for a small child. I'll try to dig out the instructions and see if there's a place you can get a copy. Otherwise, I can send you a copy. --Peggy
P.S.: Dino is so cute!
