About Me:
I am single, a mother of 2 grown sons, have 2 grandsons and a teaching assistant at a school for children with learning disabilities. I go to a local yarn shop all the time to knit and visit. We have quite a "village" in the yarn shop. We bring in babies, dogs, and even a rabbit. Also, we bring our lunch or baked goods to share. I am working on a top-down cardigan and almost finished. Will start the Wicked soon and will work on it when I am out for the summer. I live with a gray tabby named Maggie who tears up my apt. and a sweet Maltese named Vanilla who is the dgt. I never had.

MONDAY MORNING

Another Monday morning and the sun is out. After the awful weather we had yesterday on Mother's Day, it is nice to see the sun. I hope all you knitters had a wonderful Mother's Day. I started making a linen hand towel this morning.. It is made with a Tile Stitch and made with a Rose colored linen yarn. It is made on small needles so it will take awhile. Our weather yesterday was windy and rainy and cold. Come trees in our city were blown down, but I am grateful we did not have tornadoes. My cott… Continue

ANOTHER DERBY GONE

Well, Derby is over again for another year. Derby Day was really pretty and a lot of parties were happening. I started a new sweater on Sunday. The pattern is called The Wicked and it is made from top down all in one piece. I am using a pale yellow cotton yarn. I have been planting flowers in the yard and fixing a few hanging baskets for back porch. I did put out my Humming Bird feeder but haven't see any yet. I love spring and summer. I just don't like the humidity we get here in the Ohio valle… Continue

AQUARIUM AT NEWPORT, KY

If any of you all live close to the Newport, Ky. aquarium, and haven't been there yet, it is really worth going to. Our 6th grade classes went yesterday. It was a beautiful day and we ate outside while watching the Ohio River flow by. You can see the Cinncinnati skyline and the aquarium is attached to a wonderful mall with stores and restaurants. Did not get to knit yesterday. Too tired after a 2 hour school bus ride both ways and then going to see my 5 year old grandson sing in his church choir… Continue

ANOTHER GORGEOUS DAY

It really is spring in Louisville. My 6th grade is going on a field trip to Newport Aquarium in Northern Ky. It should be a good day and we hope to eat outside on the Ohio River. I am hoping to order some Comfy yarn in the next week or so. Also going to order some Cotlin and try some hand towels. I am having trouble with my land line telephone and there is nothing wrong with the outside lines, so I guess it is my problem. I am going to buy a new cordless and hope it works. I keep my 5 year grand… Continue

SPRING HAS SPRUNG

It is sunny and warm in Lou. and I hope you have your taxes ready. Derby is fast approaching here in the River City and people are already going nuts. It gets crazier and crazier as the 1st Sat. in May approaches. But it is also fun. Lots of things to do. I am getting ready to start the Wicked in Cilantro Yarn in a lime green. It should look like lime sherbert and keep me cool for the summer. I hope to start a walking program soon and start getting a good cardio workout.

I've only lived in Gallipolis for about 4 years now, thought we have owned our property here on Raccoon Creek (about 2 miles from the Ohio River) for many years. I'm married with two grown children, four grandchildren, four dogs (yes, 4), and work at a local federal government job (nearly 33 years now). I'm planning to retire at the end of this year, and am looking forward to knitting whenever I want. Gallipolis doesn't have a local yarn shop, so most of my knitting friends are at work. They are the ones who got me started. I'm hoping to get a local knitting group started here after I retire. I have traveled to Louisville several times, but not lately. Nice to meet you.

I received my Comfy hard this weekend, and it is really soft to work with. I am working on the striped baby pullover, and it is going super fast! I love that it is washable and soft for babies.

You definitely won't be disappointed with the book. Well worth the wait.
I'm currently working on a cotton sweater, from an old Jo Sharp book. Bought the yarn at Michaels. I haven't yet tried the yarn at KnitPicks, but I agree the comfy yarn looks really nice with wonderful shades to choose from. I'm anxious to finish the sweater I'm working on to order some of the comfy too. Enjoy!
