I'm a TOTAL 'Yarnaholic' and even though I learned to knit at 6, it's only been the past few years that I've become serious about knitting. I took it up as therapy after having had nerve damage and cervical disc surgery. My stash is WAY too full and I have WAY too many acrylic yarns, having recently become addicted to natural fibers! I am at the heel flap on my first pair of socks and am looking forward to many pair in the months ahead.

Hi Marty, just wanted to introduce myself. I live just 40 miles north of Pittsburgh..Beaver County. I just began knitting last winter and have also become addicted.
I was curious to know which style you use when you knit....English or Continental?
Hope I can learn some tips from your experience.
Hi Marty, It was nice to hear from u. Yes me too. I use Raverly alot more than I do this site. It has alot more groups & education on it. I'll have to add u on as my friend at raverly. Hope u had a wonderful Mother's Day.
Hi Marty - I just tossed out a free internet pattern for a mock gull hat. I figure after ripping SEVEN times I'd had enough. I'm working on my Magic Stripes socks and a Reader's Wrap pattern by Lisa Carnahan (lisaknits.com). I bought the new "2 at a time" socks book and will plunge into that next. Got some Happy Feet yarn by Plymouth that's very pretty. - Katy

Hi Marty - nice to meet you, that's my sister's nickname! My Ravelry ID is madamadmiral. I'm working on Magic Stripes cocks and they're coming along fine but I did have to go to my LYS for some help. I bought Melissa 2 At A Time book for the next challenge. She has a group on Ravelry and contributes to the site - YAY!

I started taking lessons from a woman in Robinson Twp. who is teaching me the German style. It is much faster.
Yes, the purses are felted. I figured since I was just starting out it would hide my mistakes much better...lol
