As promised...progress pic

Here is a picture of my progress with the Cornicopia socks:

I love the spiraling in the pattern, and the colors. And I think these would also make great wrist warmers! I'll be filing this pattern away for just such a project in the future.

Argh! Wrapping stitches

so i had my first encounter with wrapped stitches as i worked on the heel of my sock. after making my eyeballs spin for about 10 min, i finally figured out what i was supposed to do with those buggers and my heel turned out quite nice. i'm still partial to turning the heal by slipping stitches on short rows, but i do see the logic behind wrapping stitches. however, i think i need to back up a bit becau… Continue

Continental vs. English

I had a fit of inspiration about a week ago, after listening to one of Kelley's podcasts, to re-learn how to knit. When I first learned how to knit about 2 years ago, a co-worker taught me the English style (holding the yarn in your right hand, and throwing). i felt pretty comfortable in that method, until i had to purl. after listening to an old podcast, and kelley's explanation of how the Continental Style makes purling easier, i thought i would give it a shot. suddenly, my "stress-reliever"… Continue

I'm on my second pair of socks, ever. I'm using Peacock Superwash (way cute, the way), and it's spiraling up nicely. Scraligous as it might be, it's from Sock Pixie, Co

Have you had any problems yet? It may be a mistake I made. I'm knittiy50, I sent you a comment earlier. I'm also from Indiana. I tried to log on to this community and wasn't able to. I ended up having to make another website. Just wanted to let people know. I tried to make it like the other one. I hope it was my mistake because I just bought my first computer and I may have done something by accident. I was using the computers at the public library for years. They would take care of any problems for me. Now, I'm on my own.

Hi!! Glad to see you here! I think it will be great to have a place to blog about our WIP's. I need to get some pictures up of some of the things I've finished. They aren't great pics, but it isn't really sunny enough here to get good pictures.
