- I'm 81, widowed, mother, gramma, greatgramma. I own my home, a garden with a fountain that I love and a sweet cat who comes to greet me when I return. I knit , sew, crochet, embroider, play bridge, read, drive, travel, and lead an active social life. I taught myself to knit from a book (with some help from my Mom) when I was ten and proudly wore the sweater until I outgrew it. I would like to find patterns and yarns for southern climes, but there doesn't seem to be many.
