I like to do crafts and try different things. I am starting to be a big knitter. I belong to a knitting group, which meets once a week. I am just learning about different yarns. I have two cats, which one is a diabetic. I have a poodle that is blind. My 90 year old Mom recently moved in with me. I like to garden in the summer.

Hi Pinehill! After working for 10 years as a medical transcriber I gave it up. Working all the time I never got together with anyone, so I joined the YMCA. I attended swim aerobics twice a week and there I met a girl that I became friendly with who was an avid knitter. From there we got a group together and started knitting in the lobby of the YMCA. More and more people joined. Two years ago we knitted for the homeless and then last year we knitted for newborns in need. We meet each Wednesday morning from 9 to 11 or 11:30. Every year we knit for some organization in need. Usually in the fall until Christmas. Now, we moved our knitting group to my clubhouse, as I live in a condo development and hoping to get more people involved here where I live. We have coffee and usually someone brings some type of snack. We just have a great time. We are all working on something different and when we are done we show our work off. Everyone gives praise for a job well done. It just lifts your spirits and makes you want to knit all the more.
Unfortunately, the only thing that doesn't get accomplished is housework. It seems lately I always put it off. A good friend of mine states housework should only be done when you are taking a break from knitting. I agree! Thanks for writing! Karen (Bing)
Hi Bing! I've been knitting for almost 50 years (yikes!...I must be getting old!) I just joined a knitting group last year and I love it...it keeps me on task. I also have a dog and kitties and love to garden. I'd love to hear about your knitting group and what you are working on.
Hi Bing!!
I have been knitting for about five years and am just now learning about different yarns...! So for different yarns you need different projects....Bless you for having your 90 year old mother
move in....we garden all year long here in CA!!
Thank you for writing, I too have many projects going at once. It's a habit that is so difficult to shake. I am still learning but since getting knit and purling down to a science, I am ready to learn more.
I am new to knitpicks too, just started yesterday as my friend Loretta got me started here. I have known her since High School. She was the one to actually show me k&p a couple of months ago. I have always enjoyed crocheting but wanted to learn to knit, now I am totally hooked!
I am just stopping in to say Hello and see if you would be interested in a new knitting friend? I have been a hobbiest and crocheter since I was 7 years old. Just a few months ago a friend of mine taught me to knit and purl. I am hooked!
Since then I have made two scarves in a basketweave pattern and currently working on a simple Curtain Call Shrug pattern I located on the Lion brand site. I want to learn all I can now that I have started knitting. Someday want to learn to cable too.
Drop me a note if you are interested in a new knitting friend. Have a great day...
