About Me:
I am a very busy mom/grandmom with a passion for knitting. I love the whole process of knitting, from the books, to the selection of colors and working the patterns, to choosing the yarn. I am also a nurse and I love what I do. The only downside is that after a very busy day at work and watching my grandson I don't have as much time to knit as I would like.

Hi there! There's no timeline on the sock knitalong - anyone can join at any time. We're focusing on patterns from the Knitted Socks book, and we've posted a list of Knit Picks yarn substitutions right here.

Dear Leah: Thanks for the reply back. Yes, I worked at MMH for many years doing in-patient admitting. Left in 83 when my late husband relocated due to work. My former co-workers are either retired or just plain ole gone, by now, I'm sure. I've so lost touch since I remarried and move to Washington. I miss CT in lots of ways. But I hear from time to time that Manch. has changed so much since I lived there. I was back briefly from 97-2000 and that was it. My daughter lives in Farifield. So I will be back this summer hopefully. I'm already planning a yarn shop visit to Westport. ;) I know what you mean. I'm going to try making some summer socks with two sets of sz 1's in circular. Never done that before either. I've always used DP bamboos. Wish me luck too. lol and write me back and let me know how you made out with your sock project(s) Mary Ann

Dear Leah: I'm from Manchester, CT. Small world. I now live in WA state with my husband. Second marriage for both of us. I was widowed in 1997. I now live in a very small retirement community. There is one yarn shop about 30 miles from here and thats it. So I pretty much get all of my yarn from Knit Picks and on occasion from JoAnn's. But that store is also about 30 miles from here also. So I'm glad knit picks began such a nice site. I belong to a craft group. But most of the folks here are quilters. So I stay with it and have taught myself some new techniques such as continental knitting, provisional cast on's, I cords etc.
How about you?
