Just wanted to say how much I enjoy your podcasts. I discovered them the end of November 2007. I eagerly await the new one each week. The variety is great (learning about new books, what you are knitting, etc) and they are inspiring. I have already purchased some of the books you have reviewed. Keep up the great work!

Hi, Kelley!
I’ve been listening to the podcast since about the third week of production. I always enjoy the topics you cover and the diversity of topics. I just wanted to take a moment to encourage you on the “slowing tempo” issue you’ve recently resolved. Although I noticed the change, I found what you were saying so fascinating it was easy to overlook. Asthma can be life changing for some… my son has severe asthma, so I can empathize. I’m glad you were able to find a solution that worked well for you. What a pleasure to hear you speaking at a normal conversational pace.

BTW, I’ve been using your harmony needles. You can tell Bob I said you were RIGHT! They’re my favorites and I’ll be ordering them in several sizes.

Keep up the good work, you have become my favorite knitting podcast and website. I’m sure you’ll be seeing many orders from me over the coming years.

I too have just begun to listen to the podcasts and am enjoying them tremendously. I just listened to Episode 6 last night and had to laugh because Kelley likes to listen to books while she knits. I listen to the podcasts. But she gave me an idea. There is a great website called the Open Library (www.archive.org) that has several hundred (or more ) free audio books. I have a feeling I am going to be doing a lot of listening while I knit.

Hi Kelly,
I’ve recently started downloading the Podcasts. What caught my attention was the interview with Laurie Perry. I love her book! I’m eager to hear the reviews of some of the books. I also love the Harmony Wooden Needles! They are so comfortable. I have to be careful with my hands and “not knitting” is not an option so I’ve given all of my metal needles away because I love the Harmony Wood needles so much. I must also say that KnitPicks is an answer to a prayer. I’ve made many wonderful things with different yarns and I’ve not been disappointed with any of the yarns. Getting good quality for less money is a wonderful change when it comes to yarn. Our hobby can be quite expensive. Thank you Kelly and thank you KnitPicks!

Many thanks to you for posting an earlier podcast about learning to drop stitches on purpose to fix mistakes rows back. I’m away from home due the birth of my first grandchild. . . while sitting in a laundromat doing my laundry so I could stay another week to help my daughter and son-in-love, I began to try knitting a cabled scarf. I realized I had an error 6 rows back, 2 stitches which were the edge stitches. I decided to be bold and try dropping the second stitch, work it back up correctly and if that worked with my skills, I’d try the edge stitch. I did it and it worked! I did the edge stitch and it looks a bit looser and I had to try to figure out where to work up but I’m beyond that now and you saved me some time unknitting. . . and I got to continue on joyfully watching my first cabled item develop before my eyes. I am amazed and so thankful that you planted that seed of possibilities in my mind from your podcasts. I have not listened to the most recent one yet, don’t have internet access unless I go to a local Panera cafe and that is where I am just now. Many thanks and happy new year!

I love your podcasts which you have heard over and over. The reason I do so much is because I have become somewhat (my kids would tell me to leave that word out) hard of hearing. With your slower pace of talking and clear tone it is very enjoyable and easy for me to listen to each of your podcasts. I love the content also, of course; I just wanted to let you know what a good job you do for the aging ears.

I discovered Kelly’s podcasts on iTunes and have become a fan. The Desert Island segment inspired me to buy the books and knit socks — my attempts so far are pretty pitiful, but I am keeping the podcast on my ipod to listen to again when I feel my enthusiasm begin to wane. Keep up the good work. I am looking forward to my first catalog and to am delighted to find a store online that fits my interests so well.

WOW! I am so happy I found you. I just got a new Zune (like an Ipod) for Chistmas. I started knitting on Thanksgiving weekend. I am consumed by it! I have made 4 scarves, and I am half way through an afghan, but now am working on a case for my Zune. I can’t stop!!! I work in a hospital that has a knitting shop in it, so that keeps me busy on my lunch hours.
I have digressed! The reason I am writing is because I wanted to let you know that you are my favorite podcast. I can’t get enough. I have downloaded all of them to my Zune and am worried about my fix when I run out of episodes. I love listening while I knit. The fact that you stay on topics that relate to knitting is wonderful. I have listened to many other podcasts that are not very professionally made and ugh, I don’t like them. I so look forward to your book reviews. In fact, I have run out and bought many of the books this last week since I am new to knitting. I also enjoyed listening to your yarn specialist describe her career, and traveling during college.
I will be going on a womens weekend with my in laws in three weeks and I can’t wait to show them all I have made since they taught me at Thanksgiving! I plan to take a sock class at work prior to my trip!
Keep those podcasts coming! They are absolutely the highlight to my day. I even listen in my car~! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
P.S. Love those harmony rainbow colored needles too! I’m going to have to make a purchase! And can’t wait to try the yarn I keep hearing about in your podcasts. The spinning is very interesting.

Kelley - thank you so much for your podcasts! I always learn something new and I don’t have many knitting friends in my new town so I love listening to you gush on about the joys of knitting - it reminds me of my old circle back home. My favorite so far has been episode 19: knitting on a budget. I’m a grad student so saving money is really important to me - that’s also why I LOVE knit picks yarn! (I also loved 17: skeins, hanks, and balls - it answered every question I felt too stupid to ask at the LYS.) Happy New Year to all at Knit Picks!
