Thank you so much - that would be terrific - guess, my colour request would fit better into a spring collection anyway (and the fall colours are very nice too - I just love to add a pop of colour to my outfits through knitting). Really appreciate your follow up. Thanks & best!

I love your yarns, especially Felici and Merino Style (oh, and Essential Kettle Dyed)! Here's my wishlist:

* Soft merino-based NON-superwash tweeds--an aran tweed would be fabulous. I've done a lot of digging and it seems very difficult to find a tweed-look yarn that is really soft. I like that you've introduced Shamrock but it's a bit different-looking than a tweed. I love tweeds but they are so scratchy and itchy!
* A worsted-weight and/or aran-weight version of Merino Style (i.e. a soft non-superwash merino worsted)--something a little hairier than the superwash Swish in lots of colors.

I can't release details yet, but are developing some yarns similar to your request that will be available in 09.

A couple of sock newbie questions:

I'm looking for a sock yarn, but not fingering weight - more of a heavy DK or light worsted. Is Swish DK or Worsted tough enough for socks? I've made this pattern (http://www.wiseneedle.com/patternpage.asp?pattern=knitpatksox) once already and want to make another pair. I used Artyarns Handpaint Stripes for that pair, so I'm looking for a similar yarn.

Also (and tell me if I need to post this somewhere else please) are the Harmony needles airplane safe? I am taking a trip at the end of September and want to have socks on DPNs to have something to do on the plane. I'm thinking a set of Harmony DPNs have got to be better than the cheap bamboo ones I used last time!

Swish DK or worsted would be a good choice for a heavy weight sock because it is machine washable. However, this yarn is 100% wool, so it wouldn't be as durable as a yarn blended with some nylon. If these socks are going to be in your shoes instead of being used as slipper socks, I'd reinforce the toes and heels with nylon thread (such as Wooly Nylon).

Yes, knitting needles are now airplane safe. This is what TSA has to say about knitting needles (and notions) on planes: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/assistant/editorial_1252.shtm

Also, Kelley talked about traveling with her interchangeable needles here: http://community.knitpicks.com/profiles/blog/show?id=1984936%3ABlog...
She always keeps extra end caps in her carry on luggage so in case she can't take knitting needles on the plane, she can just unscrew the tips and still leave the project on the cord.

Hello,
Any chance that there will be any cashmere blends coming back? I too just loved the panache and the ambrosia. Also, how about an angora blend? Thanks.

I also love the cashmere blends and would love to see them back!

I'm interested in a worsted weight self striping yarn. I love Felici, but don't think I'd make a sweater with it.

With the Felici self-striping yarns, it would be helpful to see the balled yarn (in a closeup) as well as the sample sock. The colors in the balls (in the banner graphic) are more distinct, but it's not easy to match up the colorway to the ball in all cases.

Also - I third the request for bamboo blend yarns. I'd really like to work with them... but am balking at the LYS prices!

Love all the dark browns this fall. :)

We are working on showing more views of the yarns and descriptions of the colors on our website. This will be launched soon.

Just wondered if you would ever consider having a cotton chenelle yarn? I paid a way too much money on a cotton chenelle yarn, of which the brand shall not be named. It did knit up into a beautiful and soft wash cloth. It would be nice if Knitpicks would have cotton chenelle. Thank you very much!

It's cold where I live, and thick socks are nice. How about some self-striping DK-weight yarn? I've found that the thicker all-wool socks don't wear out as fast, but I use reinforcement yarn in the heels and toes anyway. I've used Telemark for socks with good results. I just finished some in Swish DK, but they're for a gift, and I don't know how they'll wear yet. The reinforcement yarn I had was a perfect color and doesn't show up. --Peggy Stuart
