Wishlist:

1) Heavier Alpaca Cloud lace yarn. It's too stringy and splitty.
2) Bare 70/30 baby alpaca/silk yarns in lace & fingering weights.
3) Bare 70/30 kid mohair/silk yarn in lace & fingering weights.
4) Many more colors in Shadow lace yarn. Dyeing laceweight yarn is not fun.
5) Reflective, metallic carry-along yarns

I love the look of the new Imagination sock yarn. I want to make some Selbuvotter gloves, but I need a white yarn for the contrast. Which Bare fingering weight yarn would work best with Imagination?

The best match would be the Bare version of Essential - here's a link. You'll have the same nylon content in both yarns, and your gloves will still be machine washable.

I want to knit Liz Lovick's 'Jess's Gansey.' The pattern calls for 5 ply guernsey wool? Not sure what that is, but am wondering which knitpicks yarn would be best to try for this project. It is to be knit on a size one and size 2 needle. Superwash would be nice. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Ang

Jess's Gansey calls for a sport weight wool - our closest match would be Telemark. However, the listed gauge for the sweater is 27 st/4", which means that you be knitting the Telemark into a pretty dense fabric. I would definitely recommend making a good sized swatch and washing it as you would launder your finished sweater to make sure that you like the final fabric of the sweater.

I would like to see more solids and lighter shades in the lace weight yarns. I want to knit Veronik Avery's Lace Ribbon Scarf...Shimmer hand dyed would work, but the colors are too dark or too variegated. It's time to start knitting winter and gift items. More choices please!

The Lace Ribbon Scarf pattern calls for fingering weight yarn - you may like our new kettle dyed Essential for a subtle, saturated look for your scarf. Here's a link to all of our fingering weight yarns, and, if you did want to substitute a lace weight yarn for this pattern, you can find all of our lace weight yarns right here - many new colors were just added in our Spring release.

I would love to see more verg. colors with the thicker sock yarns. That's half the joy of knitting socks for me. I love seeing how the pattern evolves as the inches increase. -jo

I wondered if there are any plans of offering a "white," rather than undyed/natural, blend of Essential. I have a pattern that calls for a small bit of white yarn, and while I'll be using Bare for it this time, it would be nice to be able to pay the $3 for white Essential rather than the $6 for Bare, since I'm just going to be knitting it up undyed.

Imagination sock yarn in Bare. It's sooo nice.

I love Knit Picks Yarns - especially the Alpaca-Silk blends as I cannot have merino on my skin without developing a rash.
Any chance to extend the colour range of Alpaca-Silk blends (you have such gorgeous, broad range of colours for merino - yellow, pink, orange, green - all just yummy colours). The quality and price of your yarns is fantastic and if you could extend the Alpaca-Silk blend colours that would be outstanding. Thank you.

Well, we did just release all of our fall colors for this year. But I will file your suggestion and we will revisit your request when we choose new Alpaca Silk colors for next year.
