I love the look of them, but I agree with some of the earlier post about some neutral tips. I would love to see laminated tips of dark brown, brown, tan, and beige. Permalink Reply by Pepperhorse688 on July 3, 2008 at 11:56am: I love these needles I ordered them to knit another prayer shawl because I needed circs (the straights have too much that hang off and it hurts your wrist after a while. ) Anyway I ordered them in a size thirteen and they are absolutly amazing. I have had no trouble with them whatsoever. The joins are very smooth and the yarn doesn't fall off. AMAZING!!!!!!; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by Pam on July 8, 2008 at 6:01pm: I love my Knitpicks Harmony Options interchangeable set, but I want to do socks on two circs. You don't have the smaller sizes in the points. I really don't want to have to buy more circular kneedles!
Why can't I buy size 0-3 in the interchangeable points? Please consider making these smaller sizes available in the interchangeable points.

Permalink Reply by Knit Picks Admin on July 9, 2008 at 7:27am: We don't make interchangeable tips for sizes 0 to 3 because the metal screw on the end of the cable is larger than the diameter of the needle tip. For example, if you used a size 1 tip with the standard cables, your stitches would have to slide over a bump that's the equivalent of a size 4 needle, distorting your stitches and throwing off your gauge. For this reason, we make the smaller diameter needles available as fixed circulars.; ▶ Reply to This

I hate metal because they hurt my fingers and they bend so easily... bamboo is lovely but often doesn't have the nice sharp point and I constantly worry about having one snap on me. The Harmony line is FANTASTIC!!! After getting the interchangeable circular set for sweaters and loving them, I saved my pennies and bought all the options circulars and the DPN set. THEY ARE AMAZING!!! The point, the grip, the look, the extra needle, the solid interchangeable screw in settings AND They don't bend so tight knitters like me can happily knit away! My only sorrow is that some of my cords are getting a memory and so are constantly looping on me. Still one small complain and a wealth of praise!; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by newknitter on October 3, 2008 at 6:49pm: I haven't put too much stuff into my harmony case other than the essentials (needles, cables, keys, scissors, stitch markers, small crochet hooks, darning needles, etc), but it seems as if would hold up pretty well. It is a sturdy vinyl with lots of handy pockets for all those cable needles. I feel safe with taking it with me and not worrying about damaging my needles.; ▶ Reply to This

I suggested she dip them in boiling water that has been removed from the burner. This has always worked on my other circulars. I hope this can also be done with Harmony cables.; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by moonjewel on August 24, 2008 at 9:12am: I love all my Harmony needles! I have the interchangeable set, many pairs of fixed circs and the DPN set. Lace-knitting is a dream with the ultra-pointy tips and the wood feels wonderful in my hands and has just enough "grip" to keep those laceweight yarns under control.

There are 2 items I would like to see added to the product line: shorter Harmony options needle tips in addition to the longer ones, and the cool needle sizer/gauge ruler needs to have both size 1 and 1.5 and 2 and 2.5 for us die-hard tiny-needle knitters. Right now I carry the KnitPicks needle sizer and another one from Lion which has all the sizes but no gauge ruler.

Even though I almost never knit with straights, the Harmony straights are so beautiful I plan to buy some to display in a fancy jar. Thanks, Knit Picks for making the absolutely best, most beautiful and functional needles in the world.; ▶ Reply to This
