A fun knitalong would be knitting for pets. I felted a blanket for my guinea pig to play on when he's out of his cage.
I am a beginner at felting. Any other knitalongs with felting would be fun. You could call it a feltalong!!

I was thinking about knitting for pets also-I've been knitting (and crocheting) the felted Pi kitty bed to donate for sale at my animal shelter's gift store but am having difficulty getting the sides to remain firmly upright and am thinking to try experimenting with the pattern a little to try to achieve this and would love to have other's thoughts and advice.
I've never done a knit-a-long brfore so will be thrilled to try anything.

Maybe you could try felting the kitty pi again? It would shrink more, and so the fabric would become thicker and stand up better. I don't know the current size of your cat bed though, and you wouldn't want it to become too small for the kitty.

Sounds like a good idea for my guinea pig!! How did you kitty bed turn out? Where did you get the pattern?

Thanks!! Looks fun to knit! I must be nuts, but I think I will make one for my guinea pig, PIerre. He can use it when he's out of his cage.

I would love to knit the great american afghan. The one that has every block designed by famous knitters/designers. I think if everyone were to knit one block a month , the same block, it would be fun and helpful to any of us who might need it. We could start with the first block featured in the book as block one and then at the end of every month move onto the next one in order of the book. With the wonderful worsted weight from knitpicks the variations for this afghan is limitless!!!:)

I just ordered that book and can't wait to see it.

The great american aran afghan would be a good one. Or maybe a lace shawl from
Vicorian Lace today.
