These are my all-time favorite stitch markers. I use other kinds (mainly split ring stitch markers or soft ring stitch markers) for very specific tasks, but Jump Rings are my go-to every day workhorse markers. They’re pretty small, so they don’t interfere with my stitch gauge or tension – I don’t like big markers that I can feel coming up or that interfere with my hold on the needles. I’m a loose knitter, so I’m usually working on US size 0 to 4 needles for just about any kind of project – lace to worsted weight, and these markers slide along perfectly with the stitches on my needles. Since they’re solid rings, they very rarely fall off my needles accidentally or skip over stitches on the needles. I’m always taking my projects in and out of my knitting bag, so their stay-ability is really important to me. I use them to mark all pattern repeats and sections where I need to pay special attention. And, they come in packages of 100 – so one package is enough supply for several projects at the same time; no worry about running out of markers.

Great idea! I use plastic rings made for jewelry and safety pins on my cables.
