I know. Once I made a yellow baby sweater with penguins all around the bottom. I had to do over and over. Well, by the time I got it right and took a good work at my finished penguins the yarn was a mess. So, like a crazy person that I am, I ripped it all out and started over with fresh yarn. It was worth it. I not only had a better looking sweater, but I learned how to carry different colors through my work without bunching it up. So, if I can knit a little sweat with penguins around the bottom (twice haha) I can master lace.....someday at least! Happy ripping.

Sad to say, but the same here! I am taking a computer brake from it. I just keep messing it up. Well, I'll try again and again.....stubborn. Just think how satisfying it will be when we conquer this. The sad part is my pattern only has one row of lace so far. The other 3 rows are knits and purls. And the patterning really isn't that hard. yikes!

I am new to lace too. Estonian lace is so beautiful. That is my goal as well. Maybe we can cheer each other on.You do nice work. Looks like you are doing well with the lace. I loved the fan design on the afghan/ shawl?!

Today it is starting to warm up a little ( todays high was 55) I do not like the cold, but it is good weather to just grab a cup of coffee and do some knitting,or crocheting. It seems that no matter what I am always working on a project, usually for someone in the family. I only have 1 granddaughter who is almost 11. And this year time seems to have crept up on me. I am working on some Raggedy Ann &Andy doll for another member of the family. I am going to try to knit a pair of socks for my husband for Xmas, dont know if I will get them done or not. Well gotta go for now. Cheryl

I have finished about 45 dish cloths, thankfully, and made 5 beannie hats for the guys, a couple of little girls hats, and two shawls, two pairs of socks, none for me, they are on the needles, I am crocheting a afghan for a GD, it will be finished after Christmas, it is light blue to match her room. I love your afghan , different color strips, just love that, and still love your pink socks, seems we make things for others, maybe after Christmas we can have a cup of coffee and talk about what we can do for us, Have a great Season, Irene

Most of the time I make things for other people such as friends and relatives, but every now and then I believe you need to think about yourself. So that is generally when I knit myself a pair of socks. So far this year I have made myself two pairs and I am thinking
about sending off for some more yarn to make another pair.

When I send in an order to knitpicks, I generally buy enough yarn for a extra pair of socks that I would like to make, just not right now. Then when I feel I urge I find a quiet corner and start on the next pair I want to make, sometimes for me,sometimes for hubby, and sometimes for my Mom or other relative.I am starting a pair for my husband for Xmas but I am having trouble with the gauge, when I get this figured out I will put up another picture of them also update my Pi Shawl I am also working on the dishtowels from the 2nd Mason Dixon Knitting Book they have a very pretty one and you can hang it on your fridge.
