I need help! I'm having troubles with the Carmen Bananas Sock Monkey pattern. I bought it, had a question on it, called customer service, they told me that there was a mistake in the pattern but would not tell me what the mistake was or how to fix it. I would really like to make this monkey (actually...my granddaughter would REALLY like me to make this monkey). I've spoken with Cheryl B. Waters and she's also trying to help me but she gave the impression that you might have some answers. She said that you had posted some erratas on the erratas pages and that those were incorporated into the Carmen pattern and that she was going to attach her full notes. (quick question...the erratas are in blue. Those are the mistakes that need to be changed, correct? Or do we follow those instructions?) Can you help me? My e-mail is nalameow@iowatelecom.com. I'd really appreciate any advice you could give.

Susan, you have inspired me once again...I will begin to take pics of all my FOs and post them. I have given sooooo many away without pics and it would be nice to have a reminder log to see what I have done.
Also, very nice work, I love the baby sweaters and matching hat.
Steeking "eke", I have never done this and as I said on "hooville" just saying the word is scary to me!!!! PeggyPoo offered some advice and to help me through when the time comes, but I am very interested in you "crochet" method. I will take any advice or links to tutorials you are aware of. Thanks. I love this Knitting community, I agree it is so helpful and FUN!

your projects are wonderfull. Especially love the mittens, I live in southern california and have been trying to convince myself that I really don't need mittens, since I don't even own a coat.

How did you learn to do the steeking. I was going to order a vest pattern but when I found out you had to do the steeking I changed my mind!!!! Liz

You thought I was so funny on the KAL. I wasn't trying to be,
I just tell it like it is. You make me laugh a lot too. I think we're
both twisted in the same direction. You have brightened my
life considerably. --J xxx

Hey, Sherlock,
Where in the world is the pattern for the Colorwork Kal? I'm
going nuts(er) trying to find it and getting grumpy in the process.
Not that I have my yarn yet. ---Judith
Thanks for the birthday wishes! I'm going camping after work tonight, which is pretty exciting.

My dear friend,
You couldn't possibly be a bigger chicken than I was. The
biplane was my firs small plane adventure and when I climbed
into that cockpit, I thought my heart would explode. When we
landed (on the grass beside the runway) I wanted to o right back
up. I know you could do it if you really wanted to. Until that day I
had lived my whole life in abject terror. I was 24 at the time. In the ensuing years I have had 12 years of therapy with the best therapist
in Tucson to deal with the brutality that was my childhood. Courage
isn't the absence of fear, it's feeling the fear and doing it any
way. i dare you! That was mature, wasn't it? --Judith

Sherlock.
You're good. I am indeed in a hot air balloon. It was my present
to me for my 65th. I have also been in a WWII biplane doing
stunts, in the front bubble of a jet assisted helicopter (pilot had
to show off after I told him about the biplane), soaring in a glider-
I even got to pilot a bit, in my photographer friend's kit-built very
open light weight with not even a windscreen.
I use to be terrified of heights until the biplane - couldn't go above
the second step of a ladder. So - there's hope for everyone. If I'd
been a bit younger when my first husband died, I'd had to have gotten
a pilot's license. Those flights were some of my greatest highs.
I never wanted to land. I know you could do it you really wanted.
The balloon flight was the tamest of all. -- Judith
The Swish Bulky is fantastic KP yarn!!--knits up fast, feels great and blocks beautifully. Tailored Scallops is blocking at the sleeve/shoulder seams at the moment--will post soon!! Must get on with another Christmas gift!!
Hope that you're having a great week!!
Your monsters are fantastic!! perfect stash busters!!
I'm onto the sleeves for Tailored Scallops--cover of Lace Style--it's taking shape and sooooooooo exciting!! A really easy knit of lace--only challenge was in the decrease of the lace section--I ran into the same problem that Tina had--had to plug into the gray matter to solve that one!!--balance the yo with k2tog to keep the stitch count!! Have a great weekend!!
Thank you!! Ulmus is lovely--Vivian is spectacular!! all of those traveling cables!! Yes, I can see it down the road a piece, but think I'll enjoy lace for awhile!! They are both very inspiring!! Have a super great weekend!!
What and where can I see the Ulmus shawl--and ditto the Vivian sweater--I'm imagining all sort of wonderful--and it may need to be in my cue!!
Did you have a marvelous time at the fair?--sounds like great fun!! you really do need to have a youngster to share it --it looks so much better through their eyes!!
Sounds like a plan --especially the junk food!! I had an adventure felting--knit a bag about 10x15" plus handles --put it in a pillowcase, into the washer on hot with a couple of bath towels and set it on regular--extra dirty- with a cold rinse--bad mistake! should probably have been on permanent press or delicate! What started as a knitting bag ended as a polite petite purse!!--but it's pretty!!
Sounds like you're having a fun summer --are you making yourself a collection of critters or presents? Besides DS's sweater, my FICardi is waiting--it got heavy in this HOT and so it's waiting awhile!!--9spi takes a while, and I yearned for instant gratification--4 1/4spi gives that!! No I'm tired of whining about the heat--it has been raining a bit, which saves on the water bill and our trees!! Last night the t-storm was quite a show--more like July 4!! My fingers are itching for all of that beautiful Spruce!! It may overtake me--and another Hemi--one I can block out to it's full loveliness!! may be started--speaking of instant gratification!! I go to quilt retreat in Sept--I could have the hemi out to bag stage where it gets warm--they over a/c so it would be the perfect way to keep warm!! as though the quilts weren't enough!! It may be the plan!! Hope that all is well out your way? Do you ever get the T-storm shows??
So--what's on the needles?? I'm finishing up DS's Christmas sweater tonight, or while the car is serviced--some warrenty repair. -- I'm finding too many new projects I have to do yesterday. How does one do one thing at a time?
