Thanks Irene. I have done well on chemo for a couple of years now. And when it starts to not work, they have some more new ones in the wings. This kind has been oral instead of IV so it has been really convenient. I have been very lucky. We don't expect any family here so we may just go to MacDonald's for Thanksgiving!

Irene,
So sorry I missed your message. I nearly killed myself helping to
organize our neighborhood assoc. potluck. Then all that time at
the affair and the after affair critique. I've been crawling around
ever since and in a lot of pain. I knew what I was getting into and
decided it was worth the price. I had a great time (I spend much
too much time alone) and we are working on a neighborhood
knitting group. I am depressed at the state of my home with the
holidays approaching. There is no way on earth I can get it back
to normal but I can make it a bit better.
The little cottontail bunnies live across the alley from me in a
cactus patch. This is one of the older ones. There are several
generations out there. What's really neat is that they don't seem
to be doing harm to any ornamental plants but are eating grass
and weeds. I just love them. I talk to them and they listen. Honey
really wants to to get to one of them but they're too fast even for
her. She's quite the little hunter. Did you know that poodles were
originally Russian hunting dogs?
I'm working on the Mystery Colrowork KAL - slowly, and the
Classic Cardi Kal. I'm afraid i'm going to have to frog the cardi
back to joining of the sleeves for the SECOND time. This is
getting BORING!! I keep screwing up the decreases. Whooppee!

I haven't been active in the knitting guild for the last couple of years. When my MIL came to live with us she was quite ill. There are 3 subchapters. One up Conroe way. One out by Katy and a daytime group as well as the main group. It's over 200 members.

Irene: I'm spinning away, and posting, of course! Thanks for your good wishes! --P
I don't carry much in the way of Patons, Bernat or Lion Brand, since they are readily available at the chain stores like Michaels, Hobby Lobby and AC Moore. I do order them if my customers want them and don't want to make the trip to the big stores. I carry Universal, Plymouth, Classic Elite, Berocco, Brown Sheep, and others. I just ordered a bit of Louisa Harding as well. I'm also trying to get some Noro in, as a lot of customers have asked for it. I think the rep is coming this week, and if the initial order isn't too steep, I may get some. But then I have the problem of where to put it??!
Irene, I'm always here if you need me. And I reallty do keep my very special KP friends in my thought and prayers all the time. I know the ones with special needs, and know they need all the help they can get! Hugs from me to you. Susan
Hi Irene,
I love the 10 inch Harmony needles....you will too.
I went to Baadeck Yarns today in Baddeck....and boy oh boy what a nice yarn shop......so happy I found her.....I bought 4 skeins of Opal yarn.....I love it.....could have bought more, but I have my Knitpicks order coming....I didn't want to overload my office....LOL.....
Hi, Irene. I'm sorry things haven't been going too well with you. I hope you have a better week this week.
Unfortunately, the kids live in NY, and I'm in SC. I only get to see them once or twice a year. I wish they lived here so I could see them all the time.
I'm doing pretty well. I'm back in the shop full time, and the PT said I could start using a cane around the house. Pretty soon I'll be able to drive myself.
Irene, the only LYS is the department store kind, although I just found out we have a lady in Auld's Cove that has started to sell yarn of the highest quality (or so the ladies in town tell me) we will see, I am going over tommorow to check the place out. I am making a trip to Sydney Mines on the 12th and I am stopping by Baadeck Yarns, it is a shop I have to see,in Baddeck NS and I know, the stash is going to get a boost from that trip....after relaxing at the Spa I am going to spend the afternoon...shopping and ooooing and awwwing over all the pretty soft wool......gotta love it...She has a new commemorative yarn out for the anniversary of the Silver Dart....so I will be getting some of that yarn for sure....it is the prettiest of blues...just like the sky....You can check her shop out online....Baadeck Yarns...
Have a great weekend Irene....chat with you later...
The ball winder is something I can not wait to get, the old knees are getting tired of being tyed up in wool....lol and the thumb winding is getting rather hectic.....lol....The ball winder is coming out of that Christmas box whether hubby likes it or not.....lol
My order from Knitpicks won't be here for another week or so. Believe me my husband will ask our daughter if I put it all away, so I can't even think about getting tempted.....well, I do want my ball winder out of the box, but that is it......lol...I will peek at the yarns, but I won't use any of it....honest I won't....
Yes, I go yearly to the Houston International Quilt Festival--it's huge!! and very easy to get lost!! It's great to have a place like this to see and share other's very inspiring work!!
