I am a member of a stitch marker group on Ravelry. The group was having a stitch marker swap, which I was like "YES!!!"
The mail date was Feb 1st. Well, um, that was yesterday, and a Sunday. But it was ok - I had a grace period due to the crazy weather. I told mom, but she was adamant that it be at the post office yesterday. Negating my cries of "Mom, that's insane. Seriously, it will never get shipped" and "Mom! it's Sunday!" She reached for my package and started to write a note on a separate envelope.
She told me to go weigh it, and as I did so, I ponder how we missed getting to the post office before the side walks rolled up (as it so frequently does in small towns) by 4 minutes.
I brought it back to her. "Just a fraction of an oz over 2." So she put three dollars in the small envelope - which now read: "We didn't make it in time Sat. Please add postage to this package. ~ " and she then used rubber bands to attach the small envelope to the package.
I was very skeptical. Until I went to get the mail today, and found a envelope of change amidst our mail.
