Knitting Community

I decided that Knit In Public day would be a great opportunity for a good distraction while I was doing one of my favorite activities!

That's right, the only way I could keep from kissing my muscles* would be to keep them busy doing something a bit more refined.

Some of the folks at the gym were a little confused by this one, because I was spending my time looking at some pretty white cotton instead of watching myself in the mirror. But hey! I got a workout in and got a few rows done - win-win, right? I didn't even notice how bad I looked in bike shorts!

Hmmm, I wonder how many rows I'd have to do to get my triceps in shape...

*if I could find them.

Way to knit at the machines! I like to knit on the stationary bike while listening to a book on tape.

Now THIS is something unique! But what a great idea. And we all get our workout by laughing our heads off. Thank you!
Hugs and kudos to you :)

Gretchen: Knitting definitely keeps me out of the fridge, but my two mini-poos get me outdoors to walk or hike, which helps. --P

Okay, I've been trying to get myself motivated to work out. This might actually do it. If I could get smaller hips and thighs at the same time that I'm knitting myself a new skirt (for example), in no time I will be rewarded twice!! I love it!

I would so totally hurt myself if I tried to do that! Kudos!!

I knit on the treadmill ALL THE TIME. I have a Knitsack tied to the treadmill and keep my yarn source in there. My husband is afraid some day he will come home from work and find me on the floor with the treadmill whirring away and I am on the floor behind the treadmill; wrapped in a tangled mass of yarn with a broken leg and a needle jammed somewhere into me....
no incidences.....so far! Whee!

I'm always tempted to knit on the stationary bikes.

Hehe, oh boy did I feel the burn! In fact, I'm still feeling it! ow.

I don't think anyone there had any idea what it was that I was doing. That's the really funny part! I've been asked MANY times on the bus, train, in a coffee shop or bookstore, what I was knitting (or crocheting, or 'yarning' whatever that is), but I'm not sure big Mr. Buff Dude would have even known what knitting was! Which is fine, because that means more yarn for me! And that NOBODY is going to bug me to get off the leg press! ;-)
