We visited a friend in Rockport (Tx), yesterday and drove along the beach--it was a georgeous day. The water was reflecting the intense blue of the sky and surprise--the Whooping Cranes had left the Aransas Refuge and were searching the marshy beaches for crabs--we saw almost a dozen of these georgeous birds. Lots of other sites, the egrets, gray herons, and a flamingo colored hornbill--I'm not sure of it's name--but it was a beautiful outing!!

I think hearing the birds singing when I step outside is what I have missed most this winter. The beach is one of my favorite places to be. Unfortunately, Indiana isn't blessed with an overabundance of beaches!
BTW, do you play cello, or is listening a passion? I was just listening to Quatrocelli on youtube last night...amazing!

Lisa, it's been unusually cool in Texas also. But Spring has definitely sprung here. ♥c

The weather here in NE Florida is finally improving, too. We have had an unusually long and cold winter.

Yes!! That's the other bird--such a beautiful bird--but not as rare as the Whooping Cranes!!--and the wildflowers were in full glory--fields of purple, white, yellow--and the long stalks of flowers on the Yucca!!

We have had several very mild sunny days this week... temps in the high 60s... each morning I wake up to the birds singing... it may not be spring, but the birds think it is! --S
