The kids catalog is one of my favorites because we get to choose cute things to knit from small garments to toys, toys, toys and being a mom I can appreciate all these things. It does come with its own challenges as children are as unpredictable as animals when it comes to modeling so there are far more outtakes than usable images, but the upside to this is that the parents get a lot of pictures of their children to pass along to family members (mine included). In fact this time Hendrix took a real shine to Sarah, one of our photographers, so I ended up being more of a gear monkey and Sarah looked over the art direction. With kids adjustments must be made.
I also got to feature my Tooth Fairy Pillow pattern. It is available as a free download. For those of you who missed my original blog, I had made a prototype for my dentist a year ago as a thank you for taking care of a three year dental trauma and got so much positive response from it here in the office, I simply added a pocket to make it what it is today. I have since knit my niece one for her birthday with her initial embroidered on the pocket. It is a really quick knit and only uses less than one skein of Shine Worsted. So if you have any family in the tooth losing age range, this could be your answer for a simple, quick-to-knit gift.Add a Comment
