I have a heel! Oh, do I like this. So far, I am very happy with the way these are turning out. Wendy, this is a great book!

What else have I been working on, do I hear you ask? Well, several things. Some towels. Don't tell anyone, but they are gifts for this holiday season. Easy to do and very quick. I actually have five towels myself and find I use them often in my kitchen, so does the hubby when he cooks. One towel is on the drawer of the island and the other is on the oven door. Perfect.

I am using the Saucy from Reynolds. A great yarn we sell in the shop. I love it. It is nicer on my hands than the sugar and cream. There are lots of colors. I also use this for the dish cloths and swiffer covers I have made.

It is my plan to finish up a couple of shawls I am working on. Then there is just sitting on the deck and enjoying the nice weather. Keep knitting!

That was before I had my shade. I now have a gazebo on the deck over my swing and a large umbrella over the table. More shaded! Much easier to deal with being outside.

OMG, racoon eyes from sitting on the deck? That's a first! You have a far higher sun tolerance than I do, that's for sure. I don't mind doing yard work in the sun, but if I'm going to knit or spin it has to be in the shade. Such a delicate flower am I. ;-D

I love the towels. They are a bit bright for my tastes, but are beautifully knit. What nice gifts!

No, but you should see me on the deck wearing my sun goggles, and have my readers on over those. It is a hoot to see! The first day I was out on the deck, I got a bit of color and you could see the line from my sun shades on my face. Racoon eyes. You would have thought I went skiing or something.

I'd heard it was possible to do a conventional heel flap on a toe up sock, but have never tried it. Glad to know it is working well for you. Do you need to wear sunglasses to work with that yarn? Just wonderin' (grin).
