Knitting Community

Now that I'm finished with my Learn To Knit Socks video series, I am ready to tackle some new projects. I would love suggestions!

Here is what I already have on my list

Mittens - I will be using DPNs and a two-color pattern. I haven't chosen the pattern yet.

Understanding a sock pattern using either DPNs or Magic Loop

Designing basics for an Aran Sweater - How to plan out placement of cables.

That's all I have now so please give me some more ideas!

Please post a glove knitting video. I have searched the web as well as various stores and cannot find any videos that teach how to add a thumb and fingers. Help! Many people are visual learners and need that visual aid.

I'm completely flustered with how to "pick up" stitches for glove fingers. I'd love to see a video on that one. Thanks!

Gloves, please! I've knit enough mittens for an army. I would love to see someone doing all those fingers.

I would like to see some tutorials on steeking and adding sleeves to a sweater.

It would be neat to have a "basic/intermediate/advanced knitting mathematics" I write most of my own patterns using gauges and swatches but it would be nice to have more in depth instructions...

I just received my Arden Bag Kit and am seeing some new techniques in it. 1. stranded stockinette stockinette stitch for my gauge; 2. steek and cutting my steek - cut into my knitting HELP - NO IT CANNOT BE 3. felting, I have never done any felting. This would be great for a video tutorial rather than/ or in addition to a KAL. With a video tutorial knitters can just knit with you and see it done.
I love my Nonna KAL, but many of us, myself included, have put our girl aside for various reasons.

I shall probably think about beginning my bag in less than two weeks. Please do the video tutorial.

I'm with the folks who would like to alter or design patterns - I'm a slave to the pattern and would like to break free!! I'm an advanced knitter when it comes to execution, but I'm a true novice when it comes to deviating!!

How about a video on how to read and follow charts? Are there special tips or ways to make them easier? Any ideas on how to demystify them? I can't figure out a chart to save my life! To me they are just a bunch of jibberish! Maybe your clear and concise teaching would help?
