I am blown away by how many preemie hats you guys knit over one weekend, the grand total turned out to be 86 hats! Kate made this cool slide show of all your photos:
You impressed the folks at The Preemie Project too, they sent me this message, "I was just looking through all of the posts. How cool! We really appreciate it!".
Thank you to everyone who took the time to knit 1, or 6, or 11, or 13 hats for a good cause this weekend. Yep, I said 13. Ruthmci and Knit4Many each knit 13 hats before 9am yesterday. We had a tie. We thought about coming up with a tie breaker, like a Battle Royale for knitters, but in the end we've just decided to give prizes to both of them.
They will each get a copy of Knitting in the Sun,a needle set, and 11 balls of cotton yarn (enough to knit the Cinnamon Bay Beach Blanket from the book!). Congratulations ladies! Keep an eye out for a personal message in your inbox asking you what yarn, colors, and needle set you want.
We were so impressed by the generosity of everyone here in the Knitting Community that we've decided to start a year round charity knitting KAL where you can chat with other charity knitters, learn about groups who are looking for donations, and get ideas for new projects.
Awesome job ruth and knit4many ! You guys rock. Use all the winnings in good health! I love a little competition for a good cause. Let's keep it going! Gotta go mail my hats now-

Oh, those hats are so lovely. And well done to Knit4Many and Ruthmci! Congratulations and high ten (well, 2x5 LOL).
My favourite is the one hat with the heart on it. But VERY close runner ups are the long one with the pompom on it and the lace hat. But then there are the ones in all those lovely colours, too. Oh, it's so good we don't have to chose!
Well done everybody. And thank you so much for doing this!
I am soooo impressed by 13 hats!! I had to work Saturday and go to a bridal shower Sunday (but I did knit in public while there!), so I will participate more fully next time, I hope. What a great idea for the year round charity KAL. Congrats to the winners!
