Knitting Community

It's been a while since I've posted, but I didn't want to post without some knitting to show. Well, I started a pair of socks over a month ago, and I finally finished one sock last night. A lot has occurred in the last 4 weeks and I don't even know where to start. A little over three weeks ago, my mother was in a serious car accident in Kansas. She was taken to a small hospital and then transferred to a "trauma center." Her injuries prevented her from breathing well, her pain medicines kept her from keeping anything down, and her kidneys started to fail. After much consultation, it was mutually decided to move her to a hospice unit. She spent a week there, closely attended by all of us children and a very caring nursing staff, and passed quietly on May 3rd. Her "celebration of life" was May 8th, and I finally made it back home on the 9th. Since then I have been trying to get my life/house back in order, write thankyous, and reschedule things like appointments and my son's 8th birthday party, which I missed while I was away.
I'm looking forward to a lot of summer knitting!
