Sometimes a knitter just needs something Simple! and a Knit Buddy!

I grabbed a few extra balls of Simply Cotton Worsted from our office stash a few days ago. I was determined to knit up a couple of washcloths for myself. I wandered around in Ravelry and found a few examples based on my beloved Log Cabin garter stitch pattern. Who knew that the Mason Dixon Knitters would have such a positive influence on the humble garter stitch.

After a nice wash and dry, the cloths became wonderfully cushiony! If you want to give it a try, cast on 15 stitches and knit 14 garter ridges. Then work the strips with 7 garter ridges each.

I am having a Knit Buddy giveaway to go along with my little bit of simple knitting. Just add a comment to this blog post and you will automatically be in the drawing. Next Thursday, October 29th, I will draw a name. The winner will receive one ball each of Marshmallow, Malted Milk, Ginger and Toffee colors of Simply Cotton Worsted.

I was just thinking I wanted to knit a washcloth. I will use our pattern, and thank you.

I just read that washcloths are better to use in the kitchen than sponges. I'd better get started on one of these right away! Love the pattern.

I've been looking for interesting washcloths to knit or crochet and this one looks simple too. What a great bonus to try some of your cotton! Robin

I just found this site a few minutes ago while doing a google search to find short, small circular needles for my newest passion, socks! Any suggestions?

I love the way your cloths look. I can never look at knitted cloths without thinking of my Aunt Lenora. Each year she made everyone in the entire extended family a cloth for Christmas . She knitted on those all year long. Seeing these cloths makes me miss her at the same time as bringing to mind the loveliest memories of her. Thanks for sharing!
