Knitting Community

I continue to be on a Sock Summit high! It seems that every time I have a few minutes, I'm grabbing my current sock obsession. You know how much I love Charlene Schurch's sock patterns. Well, I was so wound up after the four sock-saturated days that I didn't want to have to actually think about pattern selection. I just wanted to cast-on something and KNIT SOCKS!

Well, Charlene's Little Box of Socks was the perfect solution! Particularly since I had grabbed two skeins of Imagination we had left over in the sample box. It may be a "little box" of patterns but they encompass a broad scope. I particularly love the patterns for hand-painted, or hand-dyed yarns.

The Ric Rac Rib pattern was exactly what I wanted. A very simple pattern that would make the most of the hand-painted colors in the Mermaid Lagoon colorway. The first sock went so quickly! You may have noticed that I'm working on Harmony DPNs. I know, I'm usually using the Magic Loop Method but I seem to be going through some sort of "retro" thing. I'm happy with the pointy, Harmony wood needles so I will stick to them for awhile.

I am so glad to hear that you're enjoying using the dpn's. I tried the magic loop and it wasn't nearly as fulfilling as the plain old way.

Hi Stephanie,

Isn't that a fun pattern! I find that I am knitting a lot of the patterns from The Little Box of Socks because I am in love with Imagination!

Pretty. I cast on baby socks using my Harmony 4" dpns. They are the perfect size for baby socks. By the way great job on the Zephyr's! They were everything you said they were. Love them!

I myself just finished Faceted Rib Socks using Make Believe! Between the pattern and the fun new yarn, I am not sure what is better! THanks for the quality products.

Kelley,
What a gorgeous colorway... I have some Imagination tucked away, but haven't picked a pattern as yet.
