and, mine!

Umm, someone didn't pay attention to gauge!! In my defense, I did use a size 8 needle which is pretty small for Cadena but you know that I am a loose knitter. And, when I am making something more involved or larger than a hat, I am good about gauge. But, I was so excited about Jared's design that I could not wait to get started!!

Here's the "Ta Da"

My first successful felting project!! Please note how nicely I shaped the crown! Yep, I am thrilled!!

I used one and a half skeins of Cadena, Saffron, to make my unfelted (gaugeless) hat. So, I will give away two skeins of Cadena as my Knit Buddy drawing. That will probably be enough for two hats knit at the correct gauge! Please add a comment to this blog entry and you will be eligible for the drawing next week, November 11th.

Love the hat. I've already purchased Jared's pattern and started one. Another would be nice.

Say, doesn't a hat make a good gauge swatch? Congratulations on the felting, though! What a good solution, and what a unique hat! --P

What a great solution to your gauge problem - I'm sure many other knitters will follow your lead! Your hat is warmer now than the original design. Nice lemonade.

Great save on the hat! I especially like the picture of you wearing the hat pre-felting. Too cute! The finished version looks great!

You've got to love a happy ending, especially when it involves knitting...and successful felting!
Cute, cute, cute!

What a great hat, what a great lesson on skipping gauge and what a great sport! Guess I'd better go knit a gauge swatch for the baby sweater I started last night.

Love the hat! Crossing my fingers to win - c'mon, blackberry! (or saffron, or cranberry, or or or) :-)
