Edit 6/24/09: The 100th Knit Picks Podcast Contest is now closed - thanks for everyone who shared a comment with us!
We're celebrating the 100th Knit Picks Podcast with a contest! To enter for a chance to win a set of Harmony or Nickel Interchangeable Needles (you get to choose!), post a comment below about your favorite podcast moment or lesson. You have until 6/24/2009 to enter, and we'll pick a winner at random. We'll announce the winner in Podcast #102, and we'll also send them an email notification so they can pick out which needle set they'd like. Oh, and you'll need a US or Canadian shipping address so we can send you your prize!
Right now, in the deep, dark recesses of my mind, a tiny voice is singing, what would you do for a set of needles? (to the tune of the Klondike bar commercials). I'd do almost anything (almost) and this seems pretty easy, so I'll give it a try.
I listen to the KnitPicks podcasts whenever I'm doing housework or working in the yard and my favorite podcasts are when different members of the KnitPicks team discuss their experiences learning to knit or what they like or don't like about knitting and what their weaknesses and strengths are; it give me hope that my (rapidly) aging brain can continue to learn the techniques discussed in the podcasts.
But my favorite thing about all the podcasts is the book recommendations (knitting or otherwise).
Thanks for making my ipod worth the money and keep up the good work!
I have listened to Kelley's podcasts from the beginning while I work out at the gym or traveling in the car.
I have enjoyed the educational aspect of the podcast, and have bought a few books from recommendations.
However what I have enjoyed more than anything is hearing and learning what to pack and knit while on vacation. I was working on a fair isle sweater last year and realized that I could not take and manage a four color knitting project while on the plane or the cruise ship, so I brought along a simple lace project that did not take thought or much storage.
Kelley, thanks for your time, thoughts and efforts on making the 100th episode. And for emailing me back a few months ago.
Sincerely, Steve
I really can't pick a favorite--I just love listening to them. Kelly has a great voice, the podcasts are so varied and all are about a favorite topic--knitting! I've bought many books and CD's after listening to the reviews and interviews. Love, Lucy Neatby!
I really enjoy hearing Kelly's traveling tips. They have helped me decide what knitting to bring with me when I travel. I really enjoy the podcast and look forward to it each week. Thank you!

Thanks, Kelley, for the podcast on knitting in public. I understand completely what you mean about fear of becoming the center of attention. Even after you have a reputation as a knitter, that can still happen. I have knit at my hairdresser's (while under the dryer) for years. Recently I was there, and pulled out my knitting. The very young receptionist came over, and grilled me for the next 20 minutes about how and what I was doing, asking all sorts of rather basic instructional questions. Then she brought over something that she had created and discussed that for a while. As I was stuck under the dryer, I had no way of getting out of the situation! Since then, I have become a wee bit leery of knitting while I am there.
Kelley - I am one of those knitters 'flying or in this case, knitting without a safety net'. So, I make your podcast one of the ways I can stay connected. I anticipate the weekly email with the announcement of the posting. I wont bore you with my personal story regarding the 'why' of knitting, but just want to tell you that knitting has helped me through some difficult times! Congratulations on the 100th!
I always look forward to the book reviews. I have found out about so many great books this way and many I thought I wasn't interested in but after listening to the podcast review decided I had to have it.
