It works --there's no limit to the potential of the Tomten pattern by EZ!! Come on all of you lace and cable knitters out there!! I used Traditional Scandinavian Knitting by Sheila McGregor (Dover) for the patterns, played with them a bit, of course!! I learned a few tricks about the pattern while in the making--do some extra pick-ups at the sleeve top--it tends to pull--and at the bottom of the sleeve ktog the live stitch left on the cable with a lot of pull, quite like avoiding the ladders on sock knitting!! I also did my sleeve dec at both the top and bottom and with the extra bulk of stranded work, dec to 1/3 rather than 1/4 per EZ directions. Guess that about covers it!! Fun knit!! The little ridge at the edge of my front bands is NOT i-cord, but curves partially around-- I reverted to EZ's beloved Garter on the last 2 rows of the band before cast off. Makes a nice texture for the edge!!
