i use my brass ring markers from KP and coilless pins the most! I love them both. They really help me keep track of pattern repeats and increases/decreases.

I have the coilless safety pins. Sometimes I just want to pin one on to show which is the front side, but I use them for st markers a lot. The only trouble with them is, my Sunny wants to eat them. I have to keep my knitting out of reach when I use them. Dog slobber on my baby knitting--not a good thing! --P

Ooh, try the coilless pins. They are great when having to do an increase/decrease every so-many rows. Use them to mark the row and then you can keep track of how many you have to go before the next increase/decrease.

I don't have the coilless pins, but use the brass ring markers a lot! I don't think I could knit without them. --S
