I can't believe it's August! Here in NYC we are experiencing somthing like Fall wheather. It's been in the mid-80's and at night it goes down to the 60"s! The Fall is my favorite time of the year. I have been doing alot of de-cluttering. I gave my gently used knitting books to my local library and cleaned and carefully packaged yarn and needles I don't want to schools and nursing homes. I hope someone can enjoy them. It feels good to let go things you don't use and make space. I highly recommend this to my fellow knitters. There;s nothing like having a clear space to sit down on and knit and watchTV. All this de-cluttering has been so good for my creativity. I'm starting to design and make my own patterns. I knit in the round now and find it a much better way to make sweaters. When I knit in the round, it doesn't feel as long to make the swaeter.
For the winter, I'm going to make several accessories for myself. hats, small scraves and mitts. Knit something for yourself. I love the book, 'A Handknit Romance.' It is filled with goodies to make for yourself. My closet looks so much better and it has perked me up! Now that I have space, I look forward to designing my knitwear. I'm looking forward to nice long walks in Central Park this Fall. The Parks Committee recently fixed and trimed many of the trees and they look wonderful. We shoulf have lots of fall color. Another thing about the Fall is it puts you in the mood to knit!
