literally,
and the kids too.
I don't have a ton of blog time so this is a picture blog. Christmas brought many fiber related gifts.
Like yarn my mom, The Blue Lake Knitter, spun and dyed for me.
And this Zebisis spindle
And this beautiful spindle from Tara sent me, as you can see it has a beautiful celtic knot cross carved in it.
and 2.9 oz royal purple BFL
and 5.4 oz pinkish purple Ramboulet/BFL/Merino/Bamboo/Silk blend
A wagon Wheel spindle for Matthi from Tara
Gabs square spindle with her name carved in it.
Gracie's square spindle from Tara
and finally, Gracie's Zebisis spindle.
And we were spinning all holiday break long.
Here is what Gabs is working on.
Here is what I did with the purple BFL
Here it is all joined up, 146.5 total yds.
Here is the Ramboulet blend, one plied, one single.
I'm having a ton of fun spinning. I can't wait to knit with the yarn my mom made for me and with the yarn I am spinning up myself. I got another gift I didn't post a pic of, Cheryl sent me a knit picks fiber scale with totally rocks and came at the best time ever, just when I had all this spun yarn! Yay, Fiber!
Happy New Years everyone.

Comment by Blue Lake knitter's daughter on January 8, 2011 at 9:03am Ladies, I have enjoyed all of the kid related labors, but if youask my mum, she'd tell you I am an expert at doing things the hard way. Today I get to stay home, breakfast isn't over and I am pretty sure Gracie has pancake syrup in her hair. whew.

Peggy, my boys used to threaten to call CPS on me. I would tell them I'd be happy to dial the number for them because I really needed a vacation!
