It seems like the colder the weather gets the more I knit. I have been doing so much knitting here lately. I completed all but one gift knit for this season. I completed my first sock, the tutorial sock from 2 At A Time Socks. I'm really excited about the sock. I learned two things during that project, knitting socks is not hard like I thought it was, and I learned the magic loop (also not hard like I thought). Upon completing the sock I discovered what all the fuss is about with the sock knitting. So naturally a knitpicks order is called for to get needles and yarn for more complex socks. I am also planning to pick up Sock Innovation by Cookie A. It's time to stop admiring everyone else's hand knit socks and knit up some of my own!
In the mean time while I wait for my order (which I am placing today), I am working on some cabled leg warmers. I woke up to ice on the car this morning and decided I needed more than one pair of leg warmers in my collection and we all know that a hand knit pair is going to be warmer than store bought (even though my store bought leg warmers are doing a pretty good job today).
I'm also working on my first sweater. I'm really excited about it, though I am still working out some issues of working with 3 balls of yarn at the same time. But I'll figure it out. (However, I won't ignore friendly knitter advice!)
Happy Knitting!
