Yes! It dawned on me a couple of weeks ago that if I wanted to stay in contact with my friends here, I need to use the blog option, not try to keep up with the discussion threads.
I'm not going to whine, really I'm not, but here's the low down on the latest MIA.
1) Replaced 166' of drop pipe and pump in our well. But only after 6-8 weeks of nursing it along until we had the $$ for that unexpected expense. (12 children, 3 of whom are toddlers, and monitoring water usage! Yep, you got the picture!)
2) More septic issues. We currently have a huge hole in our yard. DH did some fixing, we've been monitoring to make sure it IS fixed before we fill in the hole. (Don't want to have to dig it up again too soon!)
3) Somebody helped my computer have a problem. (Not saying names, but please don't think it was one of the Tribe! Don't want them blamed wrongfully!) All files recovered! (YEA!) Clean reinstall of OS, and now working on reinstalling all apps, and configuring settings and such....nothing like opening a file and finding out you have to reinstall three fonts!
Needless to say, this seriously disabled me for TdF.
We did make it to a great fireworks display on the 4th.
And Cowgirl made a rag quilt for a friend's mom. She had made one for her friend and the mom decided her daughter really did need it at college so she should have her own made! =) This is King Size..literally!
The Little Man helping put things away after a trip to the store. He really was! and became very frustrated with the strip of toilet paper that came loose during the process!
On the fun side, I did some spinning in public last Friday. A small Farmer's Market has started here in our valley. The local greenhouse owner has been planning to do this for several years now, they started this year and invited me to set up a spot. I took my Minstrel, all 'dressed properly for the occasion' with Howard's Feed 'n' Wax, and worked on my Lavender Fields (about 3/4 oz left), dyed by Christina and gifted to me by Beverly when The Little Man was born. The only problem..... I finished my spinning before the two hours was over! (Ask me how long it would have taken to spin that same amount at home! =) ) I may, however, wind up with some students if some of the ladies who saw me and have 'always wanted to do that' actually decide they will make it a part of their lives.
Sorry there are no pictures from the market. I didn't think of taking the camera with me.
With all the computer issues, I haven't been able to keep up here, not even reading the comments! Hope all is going well with all of you!
'Til next time!
