If I have to write EVERYTHING down....

...I might as well enjoy it! Can you believe this notebook!! A very nice representation of some of my favorite colors! The cool thing is that I stumbled across it while I was grocery shopping!

I smile every time I have to write something down so it doesn't slip from my mind in the next five seconds. It is so appealing that I actually like keeping notes. How's that for an incentive for developing a good habit?

Oh, the top right-hand flower is actually a shiny, raised decal!

Sometimes the best finds are always when you are not looking, and they always end up being most loved because of it.

Boy wish I had kept notes and patterns for way back in the early 60,s late 50s , they got tossed in that move and another move, but would dearly love to have some of them. Irene

Well, they must only ship within the UK because on the shopping link it says for UK only. LOL. I have the same knitting journal. One of my kids gave it to me for my birthday one year.

I was chuckling to myself last night over JUST HOW MANY notebooks I have! Photo with this of just a selection! If I go to Paperchase cheryl I am in the store for HOURS (well, at least one!)!

Heather, I hopped on over for a look, what a great place for shopping for pens as well as other stationary supplies. ♥

I am obsessive when it comes to notebooks! But not only do I buy the prettiest notebooks I can find, I also absolutely have to have a pen to match!!! We have a great store here in the Uk called Paperchase that can fulfil that obsession! I have notebooks for keeping notes on patterns/row counting,; ones for projects I would like to do; ones for projects that I have done (with photos!).

Lena,
In fact, being that organized usually leads to more works-in-progress! LOL But who cares, at least we are knitting! ♥s

Tara, I am also sad I have not kept more of my notes. I am getting better at keeping track of them now. I am really, really trying to put the name of the project on any scrap of paper that I am jotting on (usually a back of an envelope). I like Ravelry because I can put some of the notes right in with the project. I am also making sure I take pictures of my projects now. I have given so many great things away and wish I had kept notes and a picture (I don't regret the gift, just the notes and pictures). I am also using my scanner more to keep copies of patterns and notes. Handy for travelling.
♥L who has not, however, found any of these tricks helpful in reducing the number of works-in-progress...

Tara, Luckily when I learned to knit, I had already discovered the value of keeping notes and information about what I am doing. Before I discovered the wealth of information on the internet, I kept each copy of the patterns with my notes on them in a white notebook. Now most of the information I keep in on my computer, usually with a name that tells me enough to find all the info I need. And as always, with age comes wisdom. ♥s
