Wednesday my daughter called to chat a while... in the course of the conversation she told me that all of the children were discussing what grandma was going to knit for them next. The youngest told her that she couldn't wait to have a bunch of knitted stuff, and she would wear it all at the same time, even if the colors didn't match.
I finished the toe up socks for the daughter in law yesterday... washing and blocking... today we have to be in their town anyway, so I plan on stopping by her office and dropping off her socks. If she isn't too busy, maybe I can get a pic of her wearing them.
Then yesterday my daughter called back following up on a question of what kind of yarn did I like. I explained that I had more than enough yarn, and that I had a wonderful "local" company that delivered right to my door. She had just purchased several balls of yarn from a LYS in her area, and said that the yarn was locally grown and spun - i.e. I'm getting some handspun alpaca, Pima cotton, and another that I can't remember.
So, with this added encouragement, and a finished WIP, I cast on a cotton scarf using Comfy in Crocus and size 13 Harmony wood needles and the free Fishtail Scarf pattern that I have used before. I think it will make a lovely scarf for one of the girls. I plan on making three scarves to go with the three boleros I'm making.. This is going to be so much fun. I only completed two pattern repeats last night, It may sound like the gauge will be way to big, but trust me, this looks gorgeous.
This is what makes knitting SO much fun... this makes me want to knit, knit, knit. Gotta take care of my babies' fiber needs!
Just wanted to share this with all of my knitting friends.
