Knitting Community

When I saw all the Santa hats everyone here in the office knit with our new free pattern, I couldn't resist trying them on.

After I picked my favorite, I invited Sheldon, the Fosters, Lumpy, and all my other friends over for a little tea party.
It was really fun...until Chaos showed up. He is so uncouth.

You got it! It will have to wait until Christmas, but the pair are beyond cute! One is a reddish Pomeranian, the other black/white. Beau is the b/w and slightly bigger than his brother. My daughter is good about doing photos for me, so eventually, they will be documented for posterity! I am so glad you all did that Xena video. It never occurred to me to do Santa hats for the 'boys', but that's just perfect! Thanks....

I'd love to see a photo of Yozhik and Beau in their hats!!! Will you post it for us?

Thanks so much, Alison. I have loads of Cotlin Moroccan Red (my favorite Knitpicks yarn and color!). I will be making two of them for Yozhik and Beau. I think I'll do a little 'under the chin' tie pieces with the white edging yarn. Dogs with fluffy hair can hide the tie really well. Xena didn't have the hat shift at all! Great job! I think the Poms are partial to a special treat my daughter gets for them. They aren't allowed to have 'people' food.... She runs a tight ship! hahaha

Kate said Xena's wearing her hat, so that would be CotLin! Kelley and I were Xena-wrangling for that video, and you'll definitely need a little yarn tie or some light elastic to get it to stay on. Also helpful: cheesy goldfish crackers as bribes.

OK, which of the Santa hats is Xena wearing? I have two poms to make gifts for (daughter's dogs) and wanted to make them hats. But a pattern for a tiny space between the ears is hard to find. I don't like their cutest part being all squashed down! So tell me which of the 'yarn' choices Xena wore..... This would be a HUGE hit!

The little pickle gave me an idea to make hatted pickle ornament for the grandkids - each one with his/her own different color hat - to go with their knitted gifts. What a neat idea!

Ah, makes sense that Mr. Pickle is a kosher dill, huh! ;-)
