I can see clearly now that Fall is near...

Yep, I've got leaves falling from the trees, but not because they are changing colors just yet. It's just been so dry lately. We did get a bit of rain last week, off and on almost all week, just enough to make the greass take off and green up and grow some more. I love Fall weather! I love the sounds of football in the air, the crispness of the air, the countdown to the holidays. OH! The holidays!

I'm working on a Wonderful Wallaby for my DS in KP WoTA in Cranberry. He loves red and he picked out the color. He knows it's his and keeps asking if its ready to be worn yet. Nevermind the fact that it's 70-100 degrees each day! He is so excited about getting to wear something that I've made for him. And his excitement has helped me keep on knitting it. I've got a lot of my plate this Fall, so my goal is to get it done for Christmas. I'm about 1/3 done with the second sleeve and I've already knit the body up to the sleeve join. I think it'll go super fast after I get the sleeves attached, but I'm so slow with DPNs that the sleeves are taking FOREVER! I've noticed a few holes here and there in the fabric that I've knitted up, but I don't think they are dropped stitches. I'll look it over better once I get the sleeves done. I'm afraid to look into it too much, I might make more of a mess than if I just go back after and add some interesting patches to the sweater. I've got a good knitting friend that I'm going to see today and I'll have her look it over and see what she thinks. She's great at suggesting things.

Classes have started again. I am taking 3 8 week courses this semester. 2 classes in the first 8 weeks, and then another in the last 8 weeks. I'm thinking that this will make the holidays a little bit easier and I won't be completly stressed out over school work.

I've also agreed to be my DS's school PTO treasurer. THey asked me to do it last year and I just didn't feel comfortable with doing it while I had so much already on my schedule. But since I've got things figured out a little bit better this go around, I agreed. Now I'm just waiting to get added to the checking account so that I can take over the bookkeeping. We've got frundraisers going already and it just makes me nervous to be responsible for this money that isn't mine!

We had a school carnival Friday night. It was a total success. I heard we raised about $2100 for the school to be used for field trips and supplies for the classrooms. It was a lot of hard work, but totally worth it! We plan to do it again in the Spring since we did so well. Everyone had a lot of fun, even the tired and worn out teachers, staff, and parents who painted, played, and served time int eh concession area.
