Here is the knit Picks Hoopskirt scarf (free pattern) I used Swish Bulky in blackberry i think.
It is for my mom and i am sure she will love it, since:
(a) it was made by me and she thinks the world of me, or almost as much as i think of her, and
(b) it is nice and soft, and her neck is very sensitive.
(c) she loves purple
I am sure she will love it in spite of the fact that i did a HORRIBLE job on it. There are so many mistakes!!! I also did a lousy job blocking it. :-(
This pattern involved lots of p2tog-tbl, which was such a pain!! I never really got the pattern memorized and had to read the pattern for every row for every one of the 12 repeats!! It was NOT mindless knitting. So while it is a pretty scarf, it was not really fun to knit it up.
Nevertheless, I actually am thinking of making it again since it is such a pretty scarf....In some Comfy Bulky in pomegranate, but i will try doing K2tog -tbl in stead of p2tog tbl, just to see how it goes. Purling TBL is such a pain, altho if you slip -slip (knitwise) first, then slip them back and THEN p2tog tbl, it is much easier.
Here is Hugh, enjoying some scarfage.
