Holiday Christmas White Elephant and Cookie Contest

Well I know you all think we have fun everyday because we get to work with yarn and knit, but this was our "real" fun for the holidays. The Knit Picks gals joined up with the marketing and the IT group to have a little release. So we had a potluck, cookie decorating contest and white elephant gift exchange and thankfully the snow didn't fall yesterday so we could all be there to enjoy it. Here are some of the highlights...

Here is the cookie table before we all got started. Thanks to Marci for doing all that prep!!!! And some work in progress with Sarah (one of the photographers) and Katie And here all the entries waiting judgement. Mine is the one closest to the camera, I did a little rasta man and a mini me.

1st Prize Cookie was by our pattern designer Kerin (of course)

Last Prize Cookie went to our Google guru and pinch hit model, Kyle.

And here's the gift table. As for the exchange there wasn't a lot of stealing, however I did steal a bag of yarn from Kerin (I probably don't need it but it was comfy and I just love it.) The booby prize definitely went to Diedre who only got a set of dice. And if you can believe it this snowman was actually coveted and stolen... I guess the old saying is true... one man's trash is another man's treasure.

All in all it was a good day for everyone! Hope you enjoy your holidays too! Be safe and merry!

Our office holiday party was Friday, and was great. I didn't get any pictures. We do have a White Elephant gift exchange, but we have created rules that keeps the "game" going for nearly an hour. Everyone gets a number... when your number is called you can either pick one of gifts on the table or take one from someone else. If the gift you select is taken you get to either pick one of the gifts on the table or take one from someone else. The game ends when the last gift is taken from the table. I've even seem people add money to their "dud" gifts to entice new players to take their gift instead of the one on the table. We have a blast.

Well, at least I got to steal Alison's socks! That was nice yarn...

It must be nice to be you, working there with all those great people and all those wonderful knitting and quilting supplies! The only thing nicer, I think, is to be me: Retired and with enough Social Security $$ left over each month to buy some of those wonderful supplies! --Peggy
