Wednesday, Deanna, my weaving teacher, came to my house to help me set up my loom and give me a lesson.

Comment by Peggy Stuart on February 27, 2013 at 5:38pm Is this the yarn it calls for? It's worsted weight. City Tweed comes in HW, which is more or less Aran weight, heavier than worsted. Wool of the Andes comes in worsted, which should be equivalent. You might need more, though. Himalaya is about 170 yards and WotA is 110. Is this the one?
Comment by Jean on February 27, 2013 at 5:10pm Hi Gals, I need help with a yarn questions a friend in my knitting group just finished a jacket that I loved, she used Jo Sharp yarn (it calls for Himalaya Yarn, 60%wool, 40% recycled silk) I'm wondering if I used City Tweed or Wool of the Andes Tweed if that would be just as good?
I can not figure out how to post a picture of the jacket but the books is "Silk Knits" by Elaine Eskesen
Thanks for the help.
Comment by Peggy Stuart on February 25, 2013 at 7:25pm Weaving is different from knitting, but there is a lot of carryover of skills. I'm learning to "read" my weaving the way I "read" my knitting.
Comment by Buffy Joseph on February 25, 2013 at 5:45pm Amazing blog (as usual). Thanks for showing pictures of your weaving.
Very nice... love the way the woven work looks.
Comment by Peggy Stuart on February 25, 2013 at 1:00pm This is my notebook! I've posted photos in the Weave Along, and I'll be ready to give a report in next week's blog. If you mean my weaving, it's all in the warping. It was done for me before I got the loom. I used the warp left over from Joanie's last project on it. Now that I've warped the loom myself (for a project that has many fewer warp threads), I can appreciate the lovely warping job and the lovely pattern I got from it. All I had to do was work the correct treadles.
