I searched Ravelry for "Gryffindor" and came up with all kinds of scarves, socks, sweaters, mittens, and other things. There are probably even more if you search on "Harry Potter" or some other variation.

I just looked at KP Swish Worsted - it looks to me like Fired Brick and Gold would be a good Gryffindor combo, although of course sometimes the colors on the computer screen aren't quite the same as when you see them in real life, and I don't actually have either of those colors in person.

Ooo mittens would be fun. My daughter has a robe because she was Harry Potter for Halloween. She's so cute! I thought I'd make us matching scarves! And then I could wear mine to the movie. Although I think this next one is in the summer?? Oh well! I can suffer through!

In the same Charmed Knits book, there's a pattern for House Mittens that uses Cascade 220 superwash, and for that one they use #855 Maroon and #821 Marigold for Gryffindor.

i have that book! I wondered if KP had any yarns that would be a good match before I went off looking for what they suggested. Thanks so much for your help.

There's a House Scarves pattern in the book Charmed Knits, and the colors are listed on the Ravelry pattern page. They use Cascade 220, and for Gryffindor they use #2413 Burgundy and #7827 Gold.

Gryffindor. Although my 3 year old was running around saying Slytherin, Slytherin the other say (after watching the movie and asked which house he wanted to be in...I think I need to worry about that one!) So maybe one of each but definitely Gryffindor. thanks for your help
